What do you think? We could make this a field trip event if you want. It sounds pretty great to me.

HITCHCOCK BLONDE
by Terry Johnson directed by Terry Johnson
Valerie and Geoff Fearns, Honorary Producers KCRW 89.9, Media Partner
"A big, bold adventure!" raved London's Evening Standard when the inimitable Terry Johnson premiered his fascinating and funny new play that's part theatre, part cinema. What was the dark secret that caused the great Alfred Hitchcock to obsess over beautiful blondes in jeopardy? At a villa in the Greek isles, a British professor and his beautiful young assistant sift through the clues (and the reels of disintegrating celluloid). As the cinematic mystery cuts back and forth between 1919 on a London soundstage and 1959 during the filming of that unforgettable shower scene, illusion and reality collide with shocking results.
Playwright:Terry Johnson is the recipient of nine major British theatre awards including the Olivier Award for Best Comedy in 1994 and 1999 and Playwright of the Year in 1995. He has had eight productions running in London's West End and recently directed John Malkovitch in The Libertine by Stephen Jeffries at the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago. His film, Way Upstream, was chosen for the London Film Festival and Insignificance was the official British entry at Cannes. His film about Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, Not Only But Always, was recently nominated for two BAFTAs.
Recommendation and Resources:This fascinating jigsaw puzzle of a play is for mature theatre-goers who will be caught up in the mystery—and in the complex relationship between the man and woman who unravel it. Sexual situations and some nudity.
