LA Confidences
I found this French James Ellroy documentary footage that gives a flavor of a certain aspect of LA Noir and Ellroy. Warning: He's a little outlandish. Note: Ellroy also wrote "L.A. Confidential" and "White Jazz." Anyone interested in LA Lit should definitely read him. Anyone curious about other LA-based novels should ask -- I have lots of recommendations, from John Fante to Gary Indiana, from Joan Didion to Carolyn See.
