Comics about the Iraq War

I found this on the Beat (links section under comics) which points to a Slate piece. We're going to be talking about genre in comics and the public perception of it as basically divided between super heroes and indie/underground, i.e. Crumb, Pekar and Spiegleman. This is so blatantly wrong, as you will all come to learn!

Be sure to check out the slide show on the Slate link.

The best comics about the Iraq war

Comics-loving Slate rounds up a bunch of comics about the Iraq warwith a spoilerish slide-show and critical comments. Books covered include DMZ, PRIDE OF BAGHDAD, WRA FIX, SHOOTING WAR, etc etc.

For those of you who do read comics, I'm curious what you thought of Pride -- I think its one of those books you show non-comic readers to convince them how smart comics can be.
