Today's film, Rio Bravo, was directed by Howard Hawks. If interested in his work, I'd start here. Hawks did some of the best work in several different genres, to wit:
Westerns: Red River
War: Sergeant York
Musical: Gentlemen Prefer Blondes
Gangster: Scarface
Screwball Comedy: Bringing Up Baby, His Girl Friday, Ball of Fire
Science-Fiction: The Thing from Another World
Noir/Detective: The Big Sleep
Adventure: Only Angels Have Wings
Let me know if you want to borrow any of these films. He's really a fascinating director.

I've never actually seen Gentlemen Prefer Blondes or Scarface so I feel it's about time although I'm more attracted to The Thing and Angels. Can I bring in Del Toro on Friday and switch for any one of those, or maybe a John Wayne film from his beautiful era, or maybe a second Bunuel experience? Or all of the above that I'm allowed to hoard at once. Thanks
