Some Housing Tips

While thinking about living accomodations for the spring, you might consider Park LaBrea.
Here's a story in the LA Times.
Here's the official website but its misleading in that there are lower priced units too. It's worth a phone call.

There's also a great deal of info on this USC link about rentals near USC, and it also has links to craig's list and other sites that you can use as resources. USC will not have any on campus housing available, but this site has lots of alternatives listed.

Also for those of you interested in housing opportunities near USC campus, you might check the this site on a weekly basis, and this one as well.

Happy hunting. Never hesitate to call me, email me at jrt5@duke.edu or post here asking about a particular area or neighborhood.

this is what I used, and I would say that I had a fairly awesome housing experience living with some awesome USC chicks.

also, I got to live in a really cute apartment and bike to USC (or walk) and didn't have to worry about the ridiculous parking fees. =)

Park La Brea looks really nice... assuming they allow 2 residents per bedroom. If not, then it's pricey.

The plus side of Park LaBrea is that it's probably closer to most of your internships. it's next to a nice movie theater complex/shopping/farmer's market and CBS studios and in general its a good central location. At the same time, it's a relatively quick jaunt from there to USC, not more than 45 minutes during rush hour, 20 minutes the rest of the day.

It isn't affordable for most single users, or even roommates, but I have had 4 people take up some of the older units and they liked it a lot.
