Salad Days

As per our discussions in class the past few weeks and the library today, I have linked the Sam Peckinpah Monty Python skit I was talking about below. Not only does it touch upon the entire Western genre (listen for the Liberty Valance reference), but it also contrasts the Western/Peckinpah syntax of violence to the calm pre-tennis pleasantries of an upper class British bunch on a sunny afternoon. Terry Gilliam did animation for Python? Never knew.

Loved the skit. It reminds me of this SNL skit from a few years back making fun of The O.C. and it's glorification of violence through moody emo music and slow-mo reaction shots. If I find it I'll post it.
