Some of you have heard me wax poetically about the design skills of Chip Kidd. Personally, I think he's the most influential graphic designer in the business right now. Well, he's got a brand new book out this week that's a must read for manga fans, comic fans, Batman fans, and for anyone who's just interested in publishing design and layout.

I picked up my copy today and boy is it awesome! Every page of this book is packed with amazing stuff. Chip Kidd's production notes and intro are really interesting too-I love his little rant against computer fonts and then his justification for using one (Gotham!). I've only read the first comic so far, but Batman has already defeated a dinosaur monster by transforming himself into a giant batarang. And then they gave Clayface drugs. Lots and lots of drugs. Gotta love the Japanese.
