Genre matters. It especially matters to
students in the Duke in Los Angeles program where we study all things genre, whether
in film, television, music, gaming, or comics. Los Angeles also matters, and this site should also share helpful information about what to do while staying in Los Angeles.

Jan Pehechaan Ho -- from Ghost World
Okay, one last post for a very long day. Here's the scene that Enid is watching in the opening of Ghost World. This will probably make everyone want to watch Ghost World before Friday.
This is one of my favorite things ever. Thank you so much for posting it. I'm watching it over and over. I just did a little research and discovered that it is the opening sequence from the 1965 film Gumnaam: "After dancing together in a night club, seven young people (five men and two women) are told they have won the night's dance contest and are instructed to board a small plane that will take them to their prize holiday. Instead, they end up stranded on a small island with one of the plane's co-pilots. In search of shelter, the eight go to a mansion where they meet a sinister-looking butler who announces that he knows all them and has been expecting their arrival. After a few musical numbers, castaways begin dropping dead one by one. Who could the killer be, and will any of them escape his grasp?"
Who do I have to kill to get a copy of this movie?
And here's a little something extra that I discovered: http://jaan.ytmnd.com/
hahah I can ask my mom, because I guarantee you she's seen it. I would suggest going to one of the many Indian video/grocery stores in LA. That's where I got Dhoom 2 and Krrish. And lts of them keep old movies.
And Jim, Sholay is my cousin's favorite indian movie too. He is a boy.

Can you burn me a copy after you find your victim?
Hey, that's exactly the way I dance when I'm alone in my room and sleep-deprived!
Me too -- only not as in tune with the music.
