Genre matters. It especially matters to
students in the Duke in Los Angeles program where we study all things genre, whether
in film, television, music, gaming, or comics. Los Angeles also matters, and this site should also share helpful information about what to do while staying in Los Angeles.

Another L.A. film: Kiss Me Deadly
If I remember correctly, this is an L.A. film. If I'm wrong, you should still see it anyway, if only to understand the concept of the mysterious suitcase in Pulp Fiction.
Clarence is right, and this is an outstanding film. In fact,it would have been on my list except I only allowed one private dick movie -- Chinatown -- which eliminated Kiss,Edward Dmytryk's Murder, My Sweet, Hawks' The Big Sleep and Altman's The Long Good-bye.
