The Royale is a drama about African American boxer, Jay
Johnson’s story, who fought in country club to world champion. It is now
onstage at Kirk Douglas theatre in Los Angeles.
Finally, there is one story that is not told through the
perspective of White people, yet the voice is spoken load enough that any one
could hear. A truly character driven drama that translates the strong mind, spirit
and physic of Jay Johnson, who feared nobody, to audience through a powerful
play.
It is absolutely worth spending the money and time to watch
this compelling story in a stage.
